BBC Cymru Wales gets makeover with state of the art facility.
An icon of British broadcasting, the BBC has recently moved into its state of the art new home for BBC Cymru Wales in Cardiff. The architecturally advanced building, designed by Foster + Partners, covers four floors and incorporates office, studio and production space with desk space for over 750 staff.
The interior design created by Overbury and Sheppard Robson, required a combination of both high spec interior solutions and careful project management to create the excellent end result.
Due to the nature of the BBC’s work, the building was created to an exceptionally high architectural and acoustic performance specification. This allowed Linear Projects to scope and deliver a variety of value engineering options throughout the project whilst ensuring that it ran smoothly with timely delivery to the highest standards.
The solution delivered by Linear Projects included bespoke suspended ceilings and rafts plus bespoke high acoustic door sets across the open plan space, meeting rooms, breakout areas and refreshment points.
